Kali Linux security lab

I run Kali in a VMware VM on my Zephyrus G14, deliberately isolated from the home network, as a place to learn offensive security tooling without pointing anything at systems I don’t own.

The focus so far has been fundamentals: reconnaissance, network analysis, and understanding what the tooling is actually doing at the protocol level rather than memorising commands.

It pairs directly with the home lab — knowing how a network gets mapped from the outside changes how you configure one.
